Device setup
Install your GnaviQ device
Step by step
- 1
Check what is in the box
Confirm you have the tracker, the wiring harness and the fixings listed on the box insert. The SIM is already fitted and activated before dispatch.
If anything is missing, contact support before you start — do not substitute parts.
- 2
Park safely and switch everything off
Park on level ground, apply the handbrake, switch the ignition off and remove the key.
Wait a few minutes before touching any wiring. On vehicles with airbags, keep well clear of airbag modules and their harnesses.
- 3
Find a switched power supply
The tracker needs a supply that is live only when the ignition is on, so it can tell running from parked.
Use the circuit identified in the box insert for your vehicle. If you are not confident identifying it, have the device fitted by an auto electrician — this is the one step worth paying someone for.
- 4
Route the harness and mount the device
Run the harness along existing looms and secure it so nothing can chafe, snag a pedal, or foul the steering.
Mount the device where the roof or windscreen gives it a clear view of the sky, and where it is not visible from outside the vehicle. Avoid mounting flat against large metal panels.
- 5
Confirm the first fix
Turn the ignition on and leave the vehicle in open sky for a few minutes.
The status LED tells you when the device has power and has reported in — the box insert lists what each pattern means. Once it has reported, the vehicle appears on your GnaviQ dashboard with a live position.
Troubleshooting
The vehicle is not showing up after installation+
Give it a few minutes in open sky first — the very first position fix takes longest.
If it still does not appear, the usual cause is that the device is on a permanently-live circuit rather than a switched one, or a connector is not fully seated. Check both, then contact support with the device IMEI.
The status LED is not behaving as the insert describes+
That normally means the device has power but has not completed its first fix, or it is mounted somewhere with no clear view of the sky.
Move the vehicle into the open and wait a few minutes. If the pattern still does not match, send us a photo of the LED and the IMEI and we will identify it.
Can I move the device to another vehicle?+
Yes. Refit it in the new vehicle, then reassign it in the app under Devices → Assign.
Trip history stays with the vehicle it was recorded against, so past trips are not moved.
Does installing this affect my vehicle warranty?+
A correctly fitted tracker that does not cut or modify existing looms should not affect a manufacturer warranty, but policies vary.
If your vehicle is under warranty and you are unsure, have it fitted professionally and keep the fitment record.
