This page explains how to delete your GnaviQ account and what happens to your data. It applies to the GnaviQ mobile app for Android and iOS and to gnaviq.in.
Deleting your account from the app
1. Open the GnaviQ app and go to More. 2. Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap Delete Account — it is the last row, under Help & System on the fleet-owner screen and under Support & About in driver mode. 3. Read what will be removed, then tap Continue. 4. Enter the six-digit code we send to your registered phone number. 5. Tap Delete my account.
What happens next
Your account is locked immediately — you are signed out, alerts and notifications stop, and nobody can sign in to it.
Your data is then permanently erased 30 days later. During those 30 days you can undo the deletion: sign in with your phone number as usual and choose Restore my account. After 30 days the erasure is irreversible and we cannot recover anything.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, email address, phone number, photo and password or PIN.
- Your notification settings, saved preferences and devices registered for push.
- Your name against every action you took in the app — alerts you acknowledged, commands you sent, geofences you created and documents you uploaded remain part of the fleet's records, but they are no longer linked to you.
If you are the only member of a fleet, that fleet is deleted too — its vehicles, GPS devices, trips, location history, geofences, alerts and documents. You will be told this before you confirm.
What is kept, and why
- Invoices and GST records. Indian tax law requires us to retain these for several years. They are kept without any link to your profile.
- Security audit logs. A record that an action happened, and when. These are permanently unchangeable by design and are how we can prove what was deleted. They contain no contact details.
- Driver records held by a fleet. If you drove for a fleet, your name and phone number in that fleet's driver roster belong to the fleet, not to us — we hold them on its behalf. Ask the fleet owner to remove them.
- GPS hardware. Tracking devices and SIMs return to inventory rather than being deleted, because they physically exist and remain registered with the mobile operator.
If you cannot sign in
If you have lost access to your phone number, or you are the only owner of a fleet with other members and cannot transfer ownership, email support@gnaviq.in from your registered email address. We will verify who you are and complete the deletion within 30 days.
